Longest Lightning Flash Ever?

On April 29, 2020, NOAA satellites captured what has now been confirmed as a new world record for the longest single flash of lightning. The flash itself covered a horizontal distance of 477.2 miles across parts of the southern United States. This is equivalent to the distance between New York City and Columbus Ohio.
