Created in 2020, NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Joint Venture Partnerships (JVP) program leveraged innovations from commercial industry, academia, and other federal agencies to inform satellite- and ground-system architecture investment decisions.
Using the Broad Agency Announcement process, JVP selected industry and partner agency proposals for study as potential pilots and demonstrations of the capability and feasibility of emerging concepts in missions, data systems, spacecraft and instrument design, and more. Starting Oct. 1, 2026, the Commercial Data Program will continue to conduct elements of JVP’s work.
