NOAA, NASA, NSF Experts, Neil deGrasse Tyson Featured In Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Event in Dallas

Some of the world’s top solar and space experts from NOAA, NASA, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), along with renowned astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson*, will participate in a special event at the Cotton Bowl® Stadium in Dallas to view the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8 at 1:27 p.m. CT.

Here are key highlights of a pre-eclipse media opportunity and the actual viewing event in Dallas:

The Sun, Moon, and You Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Event 
Monday, April 8
9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. CDT
Cotton Bowl, Dallas

The "Sun, Moon, and You Total Solar Eclipse Viewing" is a unique, action-packed public event, featuring renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson*, along with some of the world’s leading solar and space experts from NOAA, NASA, NSF and the state of Texas. The event will also include live programming from the PBS kids’ show Ready, Jet, Go!, amateur astronomers from Texas will host telescope viewings during the event, and there will be local STEM organizations and schools that will have tables set up in the stadium’s concourse.

* Neil deGrasse Tyson, previously scheduled to appear at the Total Solar Eclipse viewing event at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, has shifted his plans to view it at a different location. He will still appear via the Jumbotron to provide a version of StarTalk. “Ready Jet Go” along with Professor, Planetary Science and Astronomer Dr. Amy Mainzer will be the featured attraction and the rest of the action-packed program will continue as planned.
