Join us as a virtual guest for the launch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Joint Polar Satellite System-2 (JPSS-2) satellite. Operating from about 512 miles above Earth, JPSS-2 will capture data to inform weather forecasts, helping scientists predict and prepare for extreme weather events and climate change. JPSS-2 will pass over every single spot on Earth at least twice every day! Also onboard is the Low-Earth Orbit Flight Test of an Inflatable Decelerator (LOFTID). LOFTID will demonstrate inflatable heat shield technology to slow down spacecraft.
Virtual guests for the JPSS-2 launch will receive updates of any launch changes, mission-specific resources, and will receive a stamp for their virtual guest passport following the launch.
