- Ludo is a Portfolio Manager for the cryosphere with the NESDIS Center for Satellite Application and Research, where he coordinates novel research activities and maturation between science teams using satellite observations to monitor the Earth’s snow and ice regions. He is a member of the WMO Expert Team on Sea Ice Watch.
- Ludo is a NOAA/NESDIS contribution to the U.S. National Ice Center (USNIC), which he serves as the Chief Scientist to identify product gaps, advise on snow and ice product needs, collaborative opportunities, and priorities for transition to Operations.
- The USNIC provides strategic to tactical scale lake ice and sea ice analyses from satellite observations and information products to support U.S. Government funded activities over the Great Lakes and in the polar oceans.
