Charles Zakrzwski

Program Systems Engineer, NASA

Chuck Zakrzwski is the Program Systems Engineer for the SWFO Program.  In this role he is responsible for the systems engineering effort for the program and is the NASA technical authority for the program (includes spacecraft, instruments, launch accommodation, and ground elements).   

Before joining the SWFO Program, Zakrzwski was the Spacecraft System Engineer and Deputy Mission System Engineer for the ICESat-2 mission.  He was also a system engineer for the GSFC Project Formulation & Development Office and the Robotics Services Program.  He completed the NASA System Engineering Leadership Development Program. 

Before joining the GFSC system engineering branch, Zakrzwski was a senior propulsion engineer at GSFC working in various capacities including the propulsion lead for the in-house built Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, acting propulsion branch head, the lead propulsion technologist focusing on MEMS and micro-electric propulsion, technology lead for the Pulse Plasma thruster on EO-1, propulsion engineer for Landsat-7, TOMS-EP, Tropical Rainfall Mapping Mission, and other missions. 

Zakrzwski received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
