Ame Fox

Ground Segment Project Manager, NOAA

Ame Fox is the Ground Segment Project Manager for the SWFO Program. In this role, she oversees the acquisition, formulation, development and execution of the SWFO Ground Segment which includes global coverage by the SWFO Antenna Network (SAN), satellite control with the Command and Control C2) element, and Product Generation and Distribution with the Space Weather Prediction Center for the creation and distribution of products to the user community.

Fox joined Federal Service in 2016 with the Office of Satellite Ground Services most recently as a Division Chief for the Programs, Engineering, and Technology Division.  In August 2019, she completed the Federal Executive Institute, Leadership for a Democratic Society (LDS-459) and joined OPPA as the SWFO Ground Segment Project Manager in 2020.

Fox came into federal service after 28 years in the private sector supporting NASA, NOAA and DoD in all aspects of satellite development and operations.  She’s worked on a variety of programs and missions at GSFC including the Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment, Hubble Servicing Mission 3B, R-XTE, TRMM, Mercury Laser Altimeter (Instrument on MESSENGER), and JPSS.  

Ame holds a BS in Physics with minors in Computer Science and Math, from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and MS in Engineering Management: Systems Engineering from University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
