The High Definition Geomagnetic Model (HDGM) and High Definition Geomagnetic Model-Real Time (HDGM-RT) will no longer be produced by NESDIS.
Description of change:
HDGM and HDGM-RT are provided yearly by NESDIS to paying users and the development is funded by these software sales. As the primary developer, the University of Colorado Boulder, through the Cooperative Institute for Research In Environmental Sciences, is the intellectual property holder of the HDGM and HDGM-RT software. The University has entered into a licensing agreement with a private commercial entity, Monarch Magnetics (https://www.monarchmag.com**), that will be producing the HDGM and HDGM-RT going forward.

NOAA will stop providing HDGM and HDGM-RT to users no earlier than September 25, 2026.
The 2026 models of HDGM and HDGM-RT will be the final models produced and provided to users by NESDIS. All current users will be fully supported by NESDIS through the end of the calendar year.
