GOES-O (GOES-14) Satellite

The GOES-O Satellite was successfully launched at 6:51 p.m. EDT on June 27, 2009 on a Delta IV booster from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Launch vehicle performance was nominal. Orbit raising was completed on July 8 with a geosynchronous orbit at 89.5 degrees West, at which time the spacecraft was renamed GOES-14. Solar Array was successfully deployed on July 9 at 4:55 p.m. EDT resulting in a power positive state for the spacecraft; all spacecraft systems reporting nominal performance once in Sun acquisition mode. The spacecraft arrived at 105 degrees West from initial 89.5 degree West location, with final handover to NOAA in Storage Mode on December 14, 2009.
